Company History

In 1987, Bill Lewis founded ENECO East in Greenville, North Carolina under the acronym Energy Engineers and Contractors. Starting with just two technicians and a few pickup trucks, ENECO East and Bill’s reputation for quality work quickly grew the business, garnering both additional customers and employees.

Determined to expand, Bill made two pivotal decisions in 1999 – tackling additional plan-and-spec projects with the help of an additional estimator and educating his customer base on the benefit of a planned maintenance program.

Despite growing significantly since its founding, ENECO East maintains the same values instilled by Bill Lewis in 1987 – excellent customer service and a passion for large, complex mechanical projects. ENECO East’s capabilities extend beyond the traditional HVAC contractor by providing solutions for indoor air quality, energy, planned maintenance, building automation, refrigeration management, equipment life cycle analysis and more.
